1st round reflection: The overall feedback was positive, highlighting my initiative and collaborative skills. I believe that I am doing great and enjoy working in the team so far. I have been proactive in adapting into the working environment of IDEXX in general and of the team in particular with all efforts. All tasks have been performed as well as possible with good entrepreneurial behaviour. I always try to collaborate with all colleagues efficiently with clear communication for the clarification of the task so that I can easily complete each. The clearer it is, the easier it is for me to do it with my confidence and provide good results. Regarding the intercultural skill, I manage to work with European and American colleagues, as Matthijs stated “it seems she has adjusted to a more direct style of communication when needed, which I suppose is a change to how she would operate in Vietnam”. I didn't realize this adaptation until I read his feedback and I need to confirm that yes I have done this! When it comes to innovative capacity and reflective practitioner, although both company coach and my colleagues give me good assessment, the comments from Marta wake me up to have a new learning goal (Bonus goal 1). The most important thing I learned is the importance of proactive communication and consistent follow-through. While I am good at generating ideas and collaborating with others, I need to be more diligent in taking full ownership of projects and keeping stakeholders informed of my progress. In the future/ next 3 months, I will prioritize developing these skills to become a more effective and reliable team member.
2nd round reflection: It has been such a long journey and I'm happy to see good feedback from team overall. First, I'm confident to say that I master the entrepreneurial behaviour with the tons of tasks I have performed and as Marta said "In the past weeks Ha started to manage important tasks of global events (Level A priority in internal scale). This is the best example of the professional entrepreneurial approach Ha has; she is taking on full-time employee tasks and responsibilities." Appendix 5 and Appendix 12. There was one time in the monthly meeting with the team on 13 May - I asked the U.S team about the wishlist of the tasks they prepared for me but haven't given me the specific tasks to perform - Matthijs was so surprised and said that I was always made him so impressed because I always asked to do more tasks even though I was busy now and almost finished my internship. I just would like to take advantage of this internship to learn more and be proactive! Regarding the innovative capacity, I didn't think that I was innovative, but in fact I was - just looked back and see all innovative ideas I have proposed: Appendix 7, and I will continue to improve this capacity with the bonus goal 3. When it comes to collaborative capacity, I would say that I'm proud of myself to manage both internal and external collaboration so well and efficiently with good intercultural proficiency - I know who I'm talking to, how concise/ detailed I need to be, what to ask for, etc. Appendix 6 and Appendix 14. Last but not least, the reflective practitioner - I always looked for the validation from the team if I was doing well or if there was something I needed to improve. I set the meeting 1:1 with my colleagues for both 1st and 2nd feedback round and honestly asked them if they had any "negative" comments about me and weren't afraid to hurt me if they told me about my weaknesses. However, they all said I was doing a great job and kept up the good work - which plays an important role in motivating me to perform the task when I know that I'm on the right track with effective result! In the end, I'm proud and will continue doing my great job until the end of this internship.
